Riverside Recovery of Tampa is ranked No. 1 in Florida on Newsweek’s 2026 list of America’s Best Residential Addiction Treatment Centers. Newsweek published the ranking on August 13, 2026, naming 22 Florida facilities. This is the fifth consecutive year Riverside Recovery has appeared on the list and its highest placement to date, following No. 3 in Florida in 2024 and No. 2 in 2025.
The 2026 edition is the seventh annual ranking and recognizes 440 residential addiction treatment centers across the United States.
How did Newsweek and Statista score the 2026 ranking?
Newsweek and Statista scored each facility on four weighted data sources: professional reputation at 55 percent, credentials at 35 percent, care services at 5 percent, and patient reviews at 5 percent. The top 10 to 15 percent of eligible facilities in each state or region earned a place on the list.
The reputation score came from a national online survey conducted from May to June 2026. Newsweek and Statista invited thousands of therapists, counselors, physicians, and treatment center administrators to recommend leading facilities in their own states. Recommendations for a participant’s own employer were not counted. Participants also rated four quality dimensions: quality of care, quality of follow-up care, quality of service, and accommodation and amenities.
The credential score used data from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration covering 12 accreditation types, current through February 13, 2026. The care services score covered 16 categories of recovery support, education, and counseling services, also from SAMHSA. Patient review scores were aggregated from Rehabs.com, Recovery.com, and Google Reviews using a volume-weighted method.

Eligibility was limited to inpatient, residential, and long-term programs requiring a minimum 30-day residency. Facilities offering only outpatient or short-term services were excluded from the ranking.
