Tampa Drug Abuse & Addiction Treatment | Addiction Rehab in Florida

Detox Program

Our on-site state-of-the-art detox program provides clients with medical intervention to minimize the risks of withdrawal from substances. This level of care is the first phase of recovery for many men and women as they pursue sobriety, while the body adjusts to functioning without a constant supply of drugs or alcohol. It’s essential to go through detox at a professional treatment center — symptoms of withdrawal can range from headaches to nausea to seizures, and attempting to get through them alone can be at least uncomfortable and at worst life-threatening. Our services are delivered in a peaceful, spa-like setting, and our highly trained, compassionate staff are committed to making the process as safe and comfortable as possible.

Residential Treatment

This level of care provides clients with a highly structured, supportive and substance-free environment that includes around-the-clock care, comfortable amenities, fully scheduled days and a built-in recovery community. During residential treatment, our clients begin to gain knowledge of their addiction through psychoeducation and guided self-exploration. They also learn the skills needed to sustain the process of recovery and healing beyond the security of our treatment center. Most clients move directly from detox into residential treatment, a transition made seamless at Riverside Recovery as we offer both levels of care at our beautiful Tampa facility. Residential treatment consists of intensive clinical programming delivered in both group and individual formats.

Day/Night Program

The day/night program, often called a partial hospitalization program (PHP), is a full-day outpatient program that includes access to our top-tier staff and resources with the flexibility to live at home while receiving treatment. At Riverside Recovery, clients attend programming Monday–Saturday, 8am–4pm. Our day/night program is ideal for those who live nearby, have a stable and supportive home life and can commit to attending regularly scheduled treatment programming. This option can be a primary method of treatment instead of our residential program, or may be a stepping stone for clients who have completed residential treatment and want to continue with highly structured recovery care.

Intensive Outpatient Program

Our intensive outpatient program (IOP) offers part-time care, convening three times per week on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings. This program provides a flexible option for clients who need to complete their recovery treatment while tending to daily responsibilities such as work and family. On a case-by-case basis, clients may be admitted directly into our IOP as a primary level of care — however, it is most often appropriate as a transitional step following the completion of residential or day/night treatment. This level of care is a vital piece of the recovery process and provides the ongoing clinical support clients need as they begin to integrate recovery skills into their everyday lives.

Dual Diagnosis Program

Approximately 45 percent of individuals who struggle with addiction have a secondary mental health diagnosis such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD or a personality disorder. When someone has a dual diagnosis, their co-occurring concerns build upon one another, making symptoms worse. Often, substance abuse habits emerge as a means of coping with the daily difficulties of living with an unmanaged mental health disorder. Only when we help our clients overcome addiction and their mental health concerns can we give them a chance at long-lasting sobriety and wellness.

Impaired Professionals Program

Riverside Recovery is proud to partner with local unions to provide specialized care for union professionals. For men and women with careers in licensed or unionized professions, getting treatment for addiction comes with a specific set of regulations and requirements. We work closely with each of our clients to ensure that they get the right treatment in the right way so they can heal from addiction and maintain their professional licensure or status. This includes specialized documentation and communication, adherence to union-specific standards of care and working with union insurance plans.

Family Program

Building and strengthening a support network is a major focus of our program. We believe in the power of community, and we know that long-lasting recovery can’t be accomplished alone. For those of our clients who have supportive family members and loved ones nearby, we offer family programming, including family therapy, family group meetings, family workshops and visitation hours. Our family program is exceptional, and it stands out in the Tampa area as one of the most comprehensive options for those struggling with addiction and those closest to them. We frequently hear from our alumni that this was among the most impactful aspects of their time in treatment at Riverside Recovery.

Physical Therapy Program

The physical toll of addiction is undeniable, with poor nutrition, weakened body systems and heightened risks of illness left in the wake of substance abuse. And although the mental health aspects of addiction treatment are essential, we also know that our clients can only fully heal when their bodies and minds recover together. We provide fitness and physical therapy options for the men and women in our programs who need help to get healthy again, including strength training, yoga, massage therapy and recreational activities.
