Every Level of Care All Under One Roof

Dual Diagnosis Program

Approximately 45 percent of individuals who struggle with addiction have a secondary mental health diagnosis such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD or a personality disorder. When someone has a dual diagnosis, their co-occurring concerns build upon one another, making symptoms worse. Often, substance abuse habits emerge as a means of coping with the daily difficulties of living with an unmanaged mental health disorder. Only when we help our clients overcome addiction and their mental health concerns can we give them a chance at long-lasting sobriety and wellness.
At Riverside Recovery, we offer an individualized approach to addiction treatment. We work one-on-one with each client and create a personalized plan that addresses the unique obstacles they face as well as their preferred method of coping.

We believe every person seeking recovery deserves care tailored for them personally so not only do our staff members assess clients at multiple levels of intensity but also customizes their treatment plans based on what works best for them individually. With this personalization in mind, you can be sure your time spent here will deliver all the benefits needed to get back into a life free from drugs or alcohol abuse. We are proud to offer our clients multiple levels of care on-site and provide several tailored treatment plans geared towards clients with specific backgrounds and lifestyles.

The American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) defines addiction treatment as a process spanning five levels:

  • Early intervention
  • Outpatient Services
  • Intensive Outpatient / Partial Hospitalization Services
  • Residential / Inpatient Services
  • Medically Managed Intensive Inpatient Services

It’s important to understand that the continuum of care is designed for all kinds of patients, from those with mild addictions just starting their journey in recovery to severe and debilitating conditions who require 24-hour care.

Medical Detox Program

Our state-of-the-art detox program provides patients with medical intervention to prevent the life-threatening effects of withdrawals from substances. Our services are delivered in a peaceful, spa-like setting and our compassionate staff is committed to making the process as safe and comfortable as possible.

Residential/Inpatient Treatment

Residential or inpatient treatment provides residents with a complete recovery experience. This level of care is tailored for severe substance abuse disorders. It is the most comprehensive and patients receive around-the-clock care from medical professionals, counselors, therapists, and other specialists who are on the premises 24/7.

Our residential program will provide you with all of the necessary tools and education needed to begin the process of recovery and healing. Residential treatment consists of intensive clinical programming delivered in both group and individual formats.

Riverside Recovery of Tampa’s residential/inpatient program requires living in our state-of-the-art facility for usually 30, 60, or 90 days. We want our clients to be comfortable and have a small place to call home that offers support and relaxation during the recovery process.
Residents can expect to participate in various therapeutic activities such as:
  • Holistic exercises like yoga or meditation sessions
  • Individual and group therapy
  • Weekly Family Therapy
  • Daily Recovery Meetings (on-site and off-site), 12-step (AA, NA), SMART Recovery or Celebrate Recovery
  • Specialty Programs
Program Overview:
  • 24 hours of group counseling per week
  • Individual counseling on a weekly basis
  • Structured daily activities
  • Daily breathalyzers and random urinalysis for accountability

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) – Day/Night Program

Our Day/Night Program, also known as Partial Hospitalization, is designed as a step down from our full-time Residential Program. This is the next most intensive level of care. PHP allows our clients to explore independence part-time while maintaining an intensive recovery-oriented schedule. These programs take place on an outpatient basis and include scheduled sessions usually for five to six days each week.

Our PHP program, also known as our Day/Night Program is offered Monday through Saturday from 8am to 4pm. Participants live offsite and attend programming as clinically appropriate.

Intensive Outpatient Program

Designed as a step down from the Day/Night Program, our intensive outpatient program gives patients the flexibility to continue their recovery work while tending to daily responsibilities such as work and family. This level of care is a vital piece of the recovery process and provides the ongoing clinical support patients need as they begin to integrate recovery skills into their everyday lives.

Our outpatient program is the most flexible treatment option if you do not need intensive care and can maintain stability during the recovery process. The outpatient program also allows you to continue managing your substance use disorder and daily life. In outpatient treatment, you live at home and come to Riverside in the evening for individual and group therapies.
Riverside Recovery’s IOP meets 3 days a week and offers a treatment schedule that will likely include:
  • Individual treatment plans and counseling
  • Group therapy
  • Family sessions
  • Case management

Dual Diagnosis Program

Approximately 45 percent of individuals who struggle with addiction have a secondary mental health diagnosis such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD or a personality disorder. When someone has a dual diagnosis, their co-occurring concerns build upon one another, making symptoms worse. Often, substance abuse habits emerge as a means of coping with the daily difficulties of living with an unmanaged mental health disorder. Only when we help our clients overcome addiction and their mental health concerns can we give them a chance at long-lasting sobriety and wellness.

Impaired Professionals Program

Riverside Recovery is proud to partner with local unions to provide specialized care for union professionals. For men and women with careers in licensed or unionized professions, getting treatment for addiction comes with a specific set of regulations and requirements. We work closely with each of our clients to ensure that they get the right treatment in the right way so they can heal from addiction and maintain their professional licensure or status. This includes specialized documentation and communication, adherence to union-specific standards of care and working with union insurance plans.

Family Program

Riverside Recovery recognizes that addiction is a family disease and the effects of substance abuse reach beyond the patient. Research has also shown that engaging family members in the recovery process improves client outcomes through more targeted support and greater understanding. For these reasons, in addition to regular individualized care, each client is also eligible to participate in our Family Program at any level of care. This program consists of two weekly sessions that include family counseling and group meetings, as well as monthly multi-family workshops. Family sessions take place on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings to account for loved ones’ daily schedules. This program aims to educate families about the patterns of distrust, identify broken attachments and enhance effective communication.

Addiction Interventions

The truth is that your loved one is not able to make good decisions for themselves while they are stuck in the grip of addiction. Addiction leaves them no choice, and it will continue to take away their autonomy until professional treatment gives them the right tools to overcome their symptoms. The best way to help is to show them a clear, simple path to recovery that makes it easy for them to get treatment — and in many cases, the best way to accomplish this is to hold an intervention.

Therapy Program

The physical toll of addiction is undeniable, with poor nutrition, weakened body systems and heightened risks of illness left in the wake of substance abuse. And although the mental health aspects of addiction treatment are essential, we also know that our clients can only fully heal when their bodies and minds recover together. We provide fitness and physical therapy options for the men and women in our programs who need help to get healthy again, including strength training, yoga, massage therapy and recreational activities.

Addiction Therapy Program

Addiction therapy programs are designed specifically to help people with substance use disorders to overcome their condition and live life sober. Before beginning addiction therapy, patients typically stop using drugs and alcohol. While adjusting to sobriety, patients may participate in a variety of activities designed to help them address the root causes of addiction and build better coping skills.

Continuing Care / Aftercare Planning

Aftercare is integral to the continuum of care and essential for long-lasting recovery.
Your Riverside Recovery therapist, aftercare coordinator, or other professionals facilitating your care
will coordinate these services.

Our Aftercare services usually include:

  • Counseling
  • Support groups
  • Recovery coaching
  • Employment assistance
  • Legal assistance
