Ambulatory (Outpatient) Detox Program

Medically Supervised Drug and Alcohol Detox From Home

Not everyone who needs detox requires inpatient care. For those with mild to moderate withdrawal symptoms and a stable support system at home, Riverside Recovery’s Outpatient Detox Program offers a safe, structured alternative to traditional inpatient detox.

This program allows individuals to begin their recovery journey with daily medical oversight, counseling, and recovery-focused education, while continuing to sleep in their own bed and maintain daily responsibilities.

With the support of our expert medical and clinical team, outpatient detox is a convenient and effective way to start the recovery process.

Ambulatory (Outpatient) Detox

Who Is Outpatient Detox For?

Our outpatient detox program is ideal for individuals who:

  • Are experiencing mild to moderate withdrawal sympto
  • Have a stable home environment and reliable support system
  • Are physically and psychologically stable enough to detox without inpatient supervision
  • Are motivated to begin recovery and can commit to daily participation
  • May have completed prior treatment or are seeking a step-down from inpatient care

All clients are assessed before admission to ensure outpatient detox is the appropriate level of care. If we find you or your loved one needs more intensive support, we’ll provide a referral to a higher level of care.

Preparing for the Next Phase of Care

Detox is not a cure — it’s a beginning. We work closely with each client to build a recovery plan that extends beyond withdrawal. Following detox, you may be referred to:
  • Day/Night Treatment
  • Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
  • Another Outpatient Program

Our goal is to ensure a seamless transition, with no gaps in care between detox and ongoing support.
