A key way of learning more about what is stored in our subconscious mind is by listening to how we think and talk about ourselves, our self-talk. We want to get to the point where we’re taking notice of how we feel about ourselves. We want to investigate our beliefs, and monitor our inner dialogue. Is your inner voice kind and supportive, or is it cruel and disparaging? Is it nurturing, or is it cruel? Is it working with you on your path to recovery, or against you? Does your inner self believe in your ability to heal? Do you believe in yourself? Do you believe in your capacity for change, or have you convinced yourself that you’re destined for failure?
The subconscious mind directs the majority of our thoughts, feelings, actions and choices. When we have subconscious blocks still unhealed within us, we are thinking, feeling and acting out those blocks. We are applying that self-limiting energy to everything we do. We are telling ourselves and the world that we don’t believe we can heal. We don’t believe in ourselves. Our chances of recovery are greatly compromised as a result. We can only heal when we believe we can. We have to work to unite our conscious and subconscious minds so that they can be aligned in our mission to heal.
