Sara is a Board Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. She began her career in mental health by working as an intake specialist at Personal Enrichment through Mental Health Services (PEMHS), while attending nursing school at night. Since that time, she has gained over 13 years of nursing experience working with patients with a variety of mental health disorders, in a variety of clinical settings. She has extensive experience treating patients with severe mental illness, as well as, a number of years working in addictions medicine.
In addition to her extensive clinical experience, Sara also has an outstanding academic background that includes an associate’s degree, two bachelor’s degrees, and a master’s of science in nursing. She graduated from the University of Florida in Gainesville in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology where her desire to work in the mental health field took hold. Later, Sara obtained her Bachelors of Science in Nursing through the University of Texas at Arlington. Sara never let her goal of higher levels of education lapse, in spite of her full-time nursing career. In 2015 she graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program.
Sara’s number of years in the mental health field, combined with her extensive nursing education, provides her with a solid foundation for providing competent patient care. Her general foundation of knowledge and her holistic approach to patient care makes her an asset to the psychiatric community. As an APRN, she receives accolades from the patients she serves. Sara is currently employed at Riverside Recovery of Tampa and Gracepoint Wellness.
